525,600. Anyone know what that figure is? It's the number of minutes in a year. Ever thought about how many of them are wasted? Let me just say that for all of you students who think that college is a waste of time, as I did 20 years ago, DON’T GIVE UP! Let me give you a list of jobs (and therefore minutes wasted) that I have had because of my lack of education starting with A: archery instructor, bartender, bouncer, cashier, cook, counselor, dark room technician, dishwasher, housecleaner, insurance saleswoman, inventory specialist, janitor, long-haul truck driver, mystery shopper, newspaper carrier, restaurant worker, secretary, security officer, teacher, unemployed, and waitress. Take it from a pro (professional what, I haven’t decided, but this much experience has to be good for something), a college education does make a difference in today’s world. Having said that, let me introduce my current self to you.

    My name is Cathy Tuberson and this is my third try at a college degree. I came to Charlottesville to visit a friend 15 years ago and never left. I work for the United States Postal Service and have found the love of my life. We own a home in Charlottesville and have 1 dog. I am involved with doing fundraisers for the National MS Society, and enjoy quiet evenings at home when I'm not at work, school or doing fundraisers.
